When we invested in waste-management firm Sortera in 2012, we saw a great opportunity to partner with a fast-growing company with a dynamic management team and an innovative service, that was able to cut costs and offer a better client service. Under our ownership, Sortera expanded to Oslo and Gothenburg, and invested in a new sorting facility and sales office to accelerate growth in Stockholm. The company also increased its sales force and introduced new services, including bins and hazardous-waste collection. Two acquisitions followed in 2015, and when we sold our investment in 2016, we left the company well positioned for future growth.
